Atlas (Electric)
The fully electric successor to Boston Dynamics' hydraulic Atlas, now in production for Hyundai's factories.
Boston Dynamics retired the hydraulic Atlas that made its name in viral parkour videos and rebuilt the platform from scratch around electric quasi-direct-drive actuation — quieter, lighter, and aimed at commercial deployment rather than lab demos.
With 56 reported degrees of freedom, it's one of the most mechanically complex humanoids publicly detailed. It's entering production-line pilots with parent company Hyundai and has been shown working alongside partners including Google DeepMind on the software side.
