How Long Do Humanoid Robots Actually Run Per Charge?

A question that sounds simple but depends heavily on what the robot is actually doing.

Runtime varies enormously depending on task intensity — walking briskly while carrying a load draws far more power than standing still or performing light manipulation, so a single 'hours of battery life' figure on a spec sheet often reflects a specific, sometimes favorable, test condition.

What actually drains the battery

Locomotion is typically the largest power draw for a walking humanoid, particularly carrying load or moving quickly, followed by onboard compute (running perception and control software) and any active cooling systems, with idle/standby draw usually much smaller by comparison.

Reading spec sheets skeptically

Published runtime figures deserve the same skepticism as a car's fuel economy rating — useful for rough comparison between models, but rarely exactly what you'll get in your own specific use case, especially for continuous industrial duty rather than a curated demo.
